One location is a task. Twenty locations is a system. The businesses that do this well are not working harder; they have stopped doing the same job twenty times.
The three failures that cost the most
- Stale hours. One store with last year's holiday hours generates angry reviews and lost trips.
- Unanswered reviews. They pile up quietly at the locations nobody is watching.
- Inconsistent information. Different phone formats, missing websites, one profile still unverified.
What good looks like
- Bulk edits for anything that applies chain-wide: holiday hours, website patterns, phone changes.
- One review inbox covering every location, so nothing sits unanswered.
- Post once, publish to the locations it applies to, with per-location delivery status.
- Per-location performance, so you can tell which stores are actually being found.
Watch the write limits
Google enforces per-profile edit limits. Tools that fire updates too aggressively get throttled or rejected. Queued, rate-aware writes matter more than they sound when you are updating fifty profiles at once.
Agencies
If you manage profiles for clients, you also need clean separation between accounts, per-client billing, and the ability to hand a client their own login without exposing everyone else's data. That is a structural requirement, not a feature you bolt on later.
